New DM42: Yellow or orange?

Post by gmac42 »

Hi,

The pictures of the new DM42 look like the keys are considerably more orange than they were on the old ones. I know that, for the DM41X, this impression is a bit deceiving, because those keys are definitely just as yellow as they were on the beta units. (I have both of them here.) BUT the picture on the website of the DM42 also looks a bit more orange than the picture of the DM41X, so I'm wondering if that's just a slight variation in the pictures (note that the display background is also different, for instance), or if indeed a different color has been used for the new units.
Could anyone who owns both an old and a new DM42 please shed some light on the matter?

Thanks!
Gert

i got mine a few days ago and i'd call it yellowish orange. it can go either way depending on the light and angle. and the printed functions are the same--it would be hard to definitively pin them down as yellow. i'd have to take it out into the daylight to form a more accurate evaluation though.

Thanks for your reply. Without a direct comparison we can't be sure, but it seems like SwissMicros used a different color on the new DM42, then.
