I've placed the new domes two days ago.

At first, I was a bit worried because the domes were not totally aligned with the PCB (yes I followed the video instructions to the letter), but seems that everything went well (in fact, the old domes were also a bit misaligned).

Anyway, now the keypad does not miss a keystroke. It's a bit noisy (a high-pitched click noise) but no problem with that (no need to buy another calculator until the DM48 ).

I've placed my order on September the 17th, the domes/foil where shipped on the 20th, received in Morocco (so "in galaxy far far away") today the 28th!

As soon as I received the enveloppe from SM, opened it, opened the DM42... and 15 minutes after the domes/foil where changed (exactly like in Michael's video) and I have a really (but really) great keyboard ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you Michael, the feel of the keyboard is now excellent. It clicks "firmly", we hear the click, it but it is not loud... Every key has the same feel also... that's the best way I found to describe the feeling of the new keyboard.

That's quick!

The 2nd attempt for mine was shipped on September 15th and I'm still waiting for it, though Belgium isn't far from Switzerland. I bet customs are being overzealous as usual. So peculiar that a country in Schengen area isn't in the EU Customs Union.

I just used denatured 70% alcool we use to scrub our hands since the start of the pandemia.

Mine came off cleanly, but I rubbed it with IPA anyway.

I still have a problem with the right side of the ENTER key feeling slightly mushy compared to the left side. I might have to resort to the "stick bits of post-it notes on the right ENTER dome" fix again, but I'd rather not remove the PCB from the case again, mainly because the clamp on the display connector no longer remains attached after undoing the clamp. Last time, it pinged across the floor and landed under the sofa!

Thanks!
What a nice surprise.
I just placed an order to replace the domes of my old DM42 and my DM41X beta.
The icing on the cake, after seeing the video it seems to be super easy to do the replacement.

I just successfully replaced the domes of my two calculators.

Keyboard selftest was successful and the keys are now correctly registering.
The individual that choose the DM41X keyboard selftest key order was not on his best day at the time.

Two calculators are now updated. What a difference that made.

What is the discount code in the domes for? Is that a 10 CHF discount on the store?
