Display problems / broken?

Post by SeaTurtle22 »

I recently pulled my dm42 out of my pocket a d discovered the screen was unresponsive. The off image was frozen in place and no button presses helped. I unplugged the ribbon cable and plugged it in again and now the screen shows nothing at all. The unit itself seems okay, and when I press the volume adjust button it beeps as it should. Please help.

Have you tried using a paper clip to perform a reset on the bottom of the case?

F4 (the key above the LOG key) adjusts the beeper volume when there is no menu (or the F2 menu).

Just FYI, mine doesn't beep in resetting but it clears the screen ...

Perhaps there's a real HW problem. Did you look at the LCD connector? Maybe loose?
