Reset after battery failure

I replaced the battery after loss of power ,the display now shows
under
"Production Diagnostics
[ _ _ ] 43 - 00

Press [EXIT] + [F6] to exit "


Pressing Exit F6 has no effect

any ideas

Just to make sure, Exit + F6 means, "press and hold Exit, with it pressed down, press and release F6, then release Exit". Is this what you're doing?

Thank you, i had not been doing that but nonetheless it still has no effect when I do

Did the DM42 just show the production diagnostics screen when you put a new battery in or did you have to go into the SETUP to get there?

Have you tried simply pressing the RESET button through the hole on the back of the calculator?

yes to both
the screen came up automatically on battery replacement
resetting via the pin had no effect

Weird...

A couple more questions to try and get to the bottom of this.

1) What happens if you remove the battery and power the DM42 by connecting it to a USB port?

2) What brand of battery did you put in the calculator?

Thanks again.
yes it went automatically to the reset screen when the battery was replaced
yes pushing the reset button had no effect

Battery was GP Lithium Cell CR2032
Connection to USB connection has the same result -
