I would need a simple utility to save (and then load) my default Custom menu, or some gimmick to restore it when a program writes its custom menu.
Any advice is welcome.

It's not what you ask for, but this is how I deal with the issue. I create my custom menu via a program. The program is generated by Emacs based on a table of key assignments. The document is here:

The downside is that any changes I make on the calculator are lost. I need to make the changes on my computer, and push them to the calculator...
