Delete States

Post by salvomic »

hi,
is there any way to delete a State in DM42?
I' having troubles deleting the files from the folder in the DM42 disk when connected via USB: sometimes the icon of the disk disappear from my MacBook and a couple of time with FAT issues.

Is it possible to add an option in the Setup menu 2?
Load - Save - Delete States

thanks,
Salvo

This behavior you are reporting is always related to bad cables (either connector is not inserted tightly/deeply enough or the cable quality is poor).

For deleting a state file, just ignore it until the next time you connect, they take up only tiny amounts of FAT disk space, unrelated to memory usage.

for the cables, I changed at least four cables, the present one seems to be good, bot handling with this folder I got issue, also after deleting and recreating it...

I wanted only to reduce the list of them :)

If the cable is good and works reliably in different folders, then the FAT structure is likely corrupted and you should:

a. Backup all your folders
b. Format the FAT drive - [shift] [SETUP] [5] [2] [5]
c. Restore all your (good) files

and the problems should disappear.

Please confirm if this does or does not solve the problem.

I'll confirm this as soon as possilbe.
Actually I backup always the FAT drive first of any backup.
