Hi,

Oh! Great! Then I have created the problem myself...somehow.
What are the needed steps to recreate your result? Did you changed
the source somehow? Changes in the settings of the DM42 before starting
CIRCT?
It would be great if I will be able to recreate your success! :)

Cheers!

I didn't change the source code nor any DM42 settings.

Here is what I did:
  • flash the latest firmware DMCP-3.22 / DM42-3.20
  • load the calc state file ees.s42 posted here, which contains all the programs from the HP 42S Electrical Engineering Solutions book including CIRCT
  • follow the example on page 54 of HP 42S Electrical Engineering Solutions book to enter the sample circuit
that's all. Before the latest firmware I was able to reproduce the issue you reported, now with the latest firmware I don't see the display issue anymore, so if you still have an issue please share the steps to reproduce it and a screenshot of the display.

Appreciate all of the updates and efforts to maintain these devices.
David, Michael, Grsbanks, and Rprosperi, and others that contribute, please keep up the good work, even in the face of the impatient few.

Thomas Okken, your efforts to create Free42 are also wonderful. I will get plus42 for Android when it's available.

These calculators are way more than I need, but aren't they fun.

Hi to the whole DM42 team.
There are not only grumblers in this world. There are many people who are very happy with what you do.
I am one of them and I am sure many others are too.

@Michael (SwissMicros),
please have a look at this posting viewtopic.php?p=21537#p21537,
regarding observations on rapid change of battery voltage.
Maybe this is related to the new version of DMCP.

Many thanks in advance!

Downloaded and working well. Can anyone advise how these new fonts work and what those fonts are? Looks like the font has changed from a zero "0" (with a dot in center) to a slashed zero "0" and in various degrees of sizes/boldness.

Best
