And some minor space for improvement still:
- "Eg." shall read "E.g."
- REGS. and REGS, are highlighted where only REGS should be.
- "ie." shall read "i.e."
- "The Alpha register..." should read "The alpha register..." unless in titles.
- "The Angle specifiers..." shall read "The angle specifiers...".
- DEG, is highlighted where only DEG should be. Same applies for FIX, and SF, and maybe more.
- At several locations periods are lacking at the end of sentences.
- Remember the English list sequences "A, B, C, and D" where Germans list "A, B, C und D".
- Some closing parentheses appear very close to an highlighted area; it may look better inserting a narrow blank heading the ")" for visual separation.
- "AΣ mode" should presumably read "ALLΣ mode".
- Items in the function list exceeding 1 line look as in the version before (no proper line feed still).
- "MEAN Mean (average)" should be replaced by "MEAN Arithmetic mean (average)" for sake of clarity.
- "MENU Programmable MENU" shall read "MENU Programmable menu"
- ... (maybe more)

OK, went through most of it, except:
- REGS. and REGS, are highlighted where only REGS should be.
- DEG, is highlighted where only DEG should be. Same applies for FIX, and SF, and maybe more.
- At several locations periods are lacking at the end of sentences.
- Items in the function list exceeding 1 line look as in the version before (no proper line feed still).
Point 3 not done yet
Point 4 parser improvement required

Nothing contentious about it at all. It's just wrong
There are only 10 kinds of people in the world: those who understand binary and those who do not.

The Oxford (or Harvard) comma is totally acceptable in North America (Canada, USA, Mexico) only. No other continent accepts its use. It can sometimes eliminate ambiguity.grsbanks wrote: ↑Mon Dec 25, 2017 12:08 amNothing contentious about it at all. It's just wrong
"I would like to thank my parents, John and Mary" This could mean the writer wants to thank 4 people - his two parents and a person named John and a person named Mary. Or it could mean the writer's parents are named John and Mary so he is only thanking two people.
"I would like to thank my parents, John, and Mary"
In this case, the writer is definitely thanking 4 people. He is thanking his parents and he is thanking John and he is thanking Mary.
He cannot be thanking just two people. There is no ambiguity.

This discussion about the use of commas reminded me of the story about the comma that cost a company a million dollars (Canadian).

Continent? OK for Australia - but else?? Almost each and every continent is home of more languages than just one.No other continent accepts its use.

*shudder*
Please re-read your German grammar 101, then retake the test.
Also, Oxford comma all the way. If there's a noticeably long pause, write a comma, and call it Oxford or whatever you will.

Re: DM42 Firmware V3.1 available
I was taught not to use the Oxford comma at primary school. I was taught to rewrite sentences to avoid ambiguity. Some of my friends, however, were taught to use it. Same country, same school system, different instructions. It seems what we learn and hold to be true depends on what our teachers were taught.
