UPDATE: DMCP-3.10 / DM42-3.10

This is where announcements of official firmware updates provided by SwissMicros for the DM42 calculator will be made.

Please do not post bug reports here. The Usage tips, tricks and problem reports forum is there for that.

Please do not post notices of third party firmware builds here, they will be deleted. Instead, please use the Third Party firmware builds forum for this purpose.

Am I to understand that people other than Mark are finding V3.10 to be unstable? I'm not talking about the excessive power consumption when off, I mean the device crashing.
Yes, I was able to reproduce another error on two different devices (SN00480 and SN00155).
For example.
Input:
5
ENTER
1E10
y^x

Now the machines freezes!
Then I run DM42 3.9.1 on DMCP 3.10 like Mark Hardman did and all worked fine ("Out Of Range" or 1.E6145).

On machine with SN00480:

Bench with DM42 3.10 on DMCP3.10:
I tried 1E4 on USB, ok.
I tried 1E4 on Battery, the machine freezes.

Bench with DM42 3.9.1 on DMCP3.10:
I tried 1E4 on USB, ok.
I tried 1E4 on Battery, ok.
I can confirm that mine crashes as well. SN 00245.
Just to note; mine crashes also connected to USB power and voltage indication 3,02V (5^E10)

1E10
y^x
Same here on USB and on battery (SN:00284) with following message after RESET:

Code: Select all

Reg Id d3770102, fw 3.10
On USB and on battery, with 1E9: Out of Range
Battery voltage is 2.84V
DM42 SN00284 & SN03835 running C47, HP34C, HP41CV, HP42S, HP35s, WP34S, HP Prime

Reverting back to 3.9.1
No crashes.
5^E10 returns "out of range"
Bench 10.000 takes abt a minute and returns 13.955,8579043 after abt a minute.

So, sticking with the 3.9.1 for the time being.

My DM42 (beta unit #62) freezes after a couple of seconds of ijabbott's BENCH example (with X = 10000), and also freezes when I do 5 ENTER 1e10 Y^X.

Battery voltage is 2.88 V. No USB power used. I ran both tests only once, since I wasn't interested in how often these freezes occurred on my calculator, but only whether they occurred at all.

Mine too, SN: 00609, fw 3.10.

Pressing the RESET hole yields this screen:

See this message above (viewtopic.php?p=9071#p9049)

However, there are multiple benchmarks available so we need to get clarification from Mark regarding which benchmark it is that he used.
Sorry not to be more specific about which BENCH I was using.

Here's the code I'm running:

Code: Select all

01 LBL "BENCH"
02 STO 00
03 CLST
04 LBL A
05 RCL 00
06 ATAN
07 SIN
08 E^X
09 3
10 1/X
11 Y^X
12 +
13 DSE 00
14 GTO A

Thanks all for the feedback. I'm passing this info along.
