I understand it as: "many and much more", a wish for a DM42 invasion ...

Re: February run of DM-42
My interpretation: in comedy shows on TV when a comedian says something considered unfunny, to show the audience the writer are aware it isn't funny (and to suggest that the lack of comedy is, in fact, the joke itself - a metajoke if you will), the sound of crickets is sometimes used. I imagine it is to suggest that if you were stood in a field surrounded by people and told your joke, you would hear no laughter, only the chirping of crickets.
Whilst no joke was said, a question was asked a very short time ago. The 'crickets' comment I would interpret as the commenter wishing to get a reply from Michael more quickly. My personal feeling is that Michael is pretty active on this forum already, and any more time spent replying to questions like this detracts from actually working on the DM42(L) and, therefore, is a waste of time

I saw no such reply. If you know where that reply is then post a link.keithdalby wrote: ↑Tue Jan 23, 2018 2:34 pmMy interpretation: in comedy shows on TV when a comedian says something considered unfunny, to show the audience the writer are aware it isn't funny (and to suggest that the lack of comedy is, in fact, the joke itself - a metajoke if you will), the sound of crickets is sometimes used. If the developers choose to reply or not is is their decision, not yours. It takes only a few seconds, which does not take any significant time away from product development, and certainly less time than reading your useless reply.
I did get a reply from Michael via email

1. I do not believe I said it was my decision whether or not they should reply. I believe I said that 'any more time spent replying to questions like this detracts from actually working on the DM41(L)'. Not sure how that statement could be in dispute.
2. My reply was to share my interpretation of HPMike's 'crickets' comment. People were speculating about its meaning, so I shared my interpretation. Just as others shared theirs. I felt my reply had a use, but you felt it was useless, such is the wonderful variety of opinions this world enjoys.

That's no reply of Michael, is it? Another misunderstanding in this thread.keithdalby wrote: ↑Tue Jan 23, 2018 4:32 pmAs requested:cappy wrote: ↑Tue Jan 23, 2018 3:31 pmI saw no such reply. And for me as a non-native writer of English, 'cricket' is primarily the game. I had to use a dictionary to find the other meaning.
