Does DM42 support HP-41 synthetic functions?

Post by rudi »

I have been looking through some of my HP-41 listings from the early 80's, and I wonder, does the DM42 support synthetic functions, such as

Code: Select all

X<> d
?

(Still waiting for my DM42 to arrive ;-) )

DM-42 (s/n 06999), HP-42S, HP-35s, HP-11c, HP-32SII (ex HP-41CV, ex HP-75C, ex HP-48G + a lot, really lot of a accessories)

No in principle but x<> is a regular function of the HP-42 and is hence included in the DM42. 8-)
WP43 SN00000, 34S, and 31S for obvious reasons; HP-35, 45, ..., 35S, 15CE, DM16L S/N# 00093, DM42β SN:00041

X<> d is a synthetic function alright, and no, the 42S and Free42/DM42 do not support these.
In this case, you may use the RCLFLAG and STOFLAG functions instead, though not in the same way.. there's no X<>FLAG functionality - the 42S has more flags than fit in a single register.
See https://thomasokken.com/free42/#extensions for an overview of all Free42 extensions (the string ones are not yet in the DM42)
Cheers, Werner

Thanks - and yes, I also concluded, that since my Free42 couldn't, then the DM42 wouldnøt either.
No big deal, just some old programs that I wanted to enter for nostalgic reasons ;-)
