Writing 42s program to DM42

Post by Jorge » Wed Jun 24, 2020 5:57 pm

I am trying to key in a Hydraulics Program into my new DM42 that I previously had on my HP42S. I am having trouble entering numeric Labels. Can anyone provide some advise?

Thank you

Welcome to this forum.
You have probably tried to write LBL__ in alpha mode.
You have to switch to numeric mode with the Shift key and then ▼.

So you go from...

This may not be not be relevant to you but now I write all of my programs for my DM42s... using the encoder/decoder page:

there are some caveats to using the encoder (the operation commands for add/subtract, etc are a little weird but overall it is a heck of a tool including the ability of to quickly find errors in your program).

The DM42 has been my EDC (every day calculator  ) for the past 2 years. I even have some multi-label programs that I use often at work that makes alot of my job (protective relay engineer) easier since I don't need to pull out a laptop for every stinking little calculation.
