There is a great thread at the museum, including answers from Dave:
"EEVBlog #1159 Dave Jones reviews the DM42"

Hi,

from the thread I typed in the "Reciprocal Fibonacci Constant" ... it fails with "Invalid Data" at the NOT command.
Is there anybody, who git it running on her/his DM42?

Cheers!

Hello Meino,

maybe it's better to ask your question in the other forum,
in my humble opinion this forum is at present to silent.. hopefully not for long..

Have a nice weekend,
Thomas
PS didn't try 'RFC' yet.

What value did you had in the X-register when you launched RFC?

I have not tested RFC on my DM42, but I did test it on Free42 and it is working with for ex. 15 or 19 as the start value.

Now I've converted the program via https://www.swissmicros.com/dm42/decoder/,
copied the .raw to DM42, and tested with '9' on the stack.
Result equals to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reciproca ... i_constant
for 33 decimal places.

I'm guessing 26 or more, which results in NOT being performed with a value it can't handle, outside of its domain of -(2^35) to (2^35)-1.

Hi,

I have a slightly offtopic question:

The wikipedia page referenced earlier talks about the
Reciprocal Fibonacci constant
.
And it is said, that
this sum tends to the reciprocal of the golden ratio
and is:
3.3599....
.
Also this Wikipedia page links to its entry of the Golden Ratio, which is said to be: 1.61803398874....

With my limited English (I am no native speaker) I understand "reciprocal of the golden ration" as
1/1.61803398874, which I think is not equal to 3.3599...

What do I miss here... ? ;) :)

Cheers!
Meino
