If there are enough of these, one may not need the manual, but it would take a lot of ON / OFF cycles to get to the one you need...

Haha okay good one.
You can try super-glueing the recycled paper liner down to the table. Then it should be steady and opening made easy.
Unfortunately there wasn't enough room for all these instructions on the inner box...
EDIT: I hope you solve the problem soon so you can start using the calculator...
