Here's my final attempt, for today at least
6205 digits. Human readable - well, it's on the limit now I suppose.
Here's the fonts I've been using:
The first two fonts I made my self.
The last small font, I found here: https://www.sum-it.nl/en200351.html
The digits "3" and "8" are a bit dubious in the last one, I think.

Re: More PI
Impressive!! All of these images are great. But using code to make the Bitmap was INGENIOUS!!
Waiting for SM to release DM42 hardware with one additional row of keys.

Re: More PI
Pardon these ridiculous submissions, but my OCD requires their inclusion in this collection.
Here's the EXACT value of pi, in base pi:
Here's an EXACT representation of pi if base 10 is required:
Seriously. I beg you... forgive me. It Had To Be Done.

Re: More PI
But shouldn't π in base π be 1 ? (If you make fun be sure to make it right... )

Re: More PI
No, X in base X is always 10...
Re: More PI
Rudi wins for pi in readable base 10! For completeness' sake, here's the first 96,000 bits of the fractional part of pi, one pixel per bit. Made by hand using copy & paste to/from MS Word and Paint Shop Pro. No bits were retyped, so the accuracy is guaranteed. The subsequent bit (the 96001st bit) is 0, so the final bit of this image (0) is correct regardless of whether it's truncated there or rounded.
The uncanny resemblance of this to images of the Cosmic Microwave Background is not a coincidence. Proof of this is left as an exercise for the student.

Re: More PI
Excellent!
Re: More PI
Base Pi - nice one Joe Horn
And the bit representation, did you really do this by hand !!! Then you deserve some kind of medal of diligence
I checked the first 17 bits by hand, and it adds up to 0.141593933, so I trust the rest is right.

Re: More PI
Giving credit where credit is due, I obtained the first 100,000 bits of pi (in the form of text 1's and 0's in groups of 10) from this website: http://www.brouty.fr/Maths/pi.html
Then I used MS Word to delete the spaces, combine the groups of 10 zeros and ones into lines 400 bits long, replaced the 0's with spaces and the 1's with the "Upper Half Block" character (Unicode U+2580). All of that is easy and fast, using Word's search and replace function. Then I copied the first 240 lines onto my clipboard, then pasted them into Paint Shop Pro's "text" function set to Times New Roman, leading set to -0.5, and font size 1, and voilà!
Re: More PI
Thanks, Thomas! Point taken. Obviously was too late for me...
