[DM41L] CAT display too fast in 48MHz vs 12MHz

Post by Boub65 » Sun Nov 05, 2017 4:16 pm

Hi all,
As the title says it all... I find that the CAT function display speed is too fast (and different) in 48MHz than 12MHz.

I find myself going to 12MHz before launching CAT to be able to read the display and than going back to 48MHz...

Any way to slow it down in 48MHz or have same speed of display as in 12MHz?

Edit: not quite visible in CAT 0 (50% faster) but rather in CAT 1 and CAT 2...

Thanks,
Sincerely,
Boubker.

I don't have a DM41, but I assume it performs CAT the same way as a genuine '41C; assuming so, after you release the CAT argument number (e.g. just after the 3 for [shift] [CAT] [3]) just press [R/S], and then you can SST/BST your way through the CAT listing at whatever pace you like.

Hi all,
Sorry to insist 😢...
BUT a CAT 5 (alarm list) is UNREADABLE on a DM41L @ 48MHz!
Just try it please with 3 or more alarms.

Thanks,
Boubker.

Point made! I agree it's too fast to use, but all you need to do is immediately hit [R/S] as soon as you release [5] and then you can [BST] / [SST] your way through the catalog at leisure. Even if most of the catalog has sped past while moving your finger to [R/S], you can [BST] to the beginning then [SST] forward.

Did firmware V24 correct the CAT 5 bug @ 48MHz?

I see from the documentation that it corrected exactly the same bug for PSE...

This V25 release is just GREAT! I just uploaded firmware for my 2xDM15L and my DM41L.
the X-Mem add-on is just a marvelous move!

very very good job SM (and @grsbank) :D
DM41L is becoming a "beast"!

PS: Any chance (one day) of having the possibility to keep the display format and the content of the X-func & X-mem dump in the En/Decoder when Decoding + Encoding. It will help us use more the En/De-coder to debug programs.

Merci beaucoup
Boubker.

It's something that's been eating away at me as well. Ideally I'd like to rewrite the whole thing so that it shows absolutely all the information within the DM41, including registers, flags (that's what conditions the display format), key assignments, X-Mem, you name it. Something that basically allows you to set up a "virtual" DM41 and transfer it to real hardware.

Sadly, less pleasant things like work get in the way of various fun projects like this :(
