DM-15, reset fault

When I press the RCL key, the bottom of the ENTER key, the 0 key or the . key, the calculator resets. This only started after I changed the battery. HAs anyone else observed this behaviour and what might I do to fix it?

4 keys in a row side by side. Seems to be a keyboard matrix problem. If it was right from the beginning I would guess a short cut on calculator's mainboard.

Took the back off, thinking maybe it was too tight and might be accidentally triggering the reset button, but the same behaviour happens intermittently with \Sigma+ and . even without the back on, carefully holding at the sides.

Ideas?

Video of the problem here: https://youtu.be/PChVVhJLD4M

Happens with the ENTER key too when in the housing.

On top of the battery holder there must be a foam pad, otherwise the positive pole makes contact with the housing, which is connected to the negative pole of the battery. Please check.

any chance the battery holder connects to the housing? Is it also possible without housing?

I don't think so, but I took the battery out to investigate further and since putting the battery back in I've not been able to reproduce the faulty behaviour. I don't know whether it was a software or a hardware issue, but it is resolved now anyway.

Thank you for your help.

Ah, started doing this again. I'll take a screwdriver to it later

Yep, battery had slipped. Might tape it in place next time, but easy fix.
