Even a font with overlapping segments would look better, and wouldn't need any changes to the underlying ROM code that chooses the segments to be displayed.

Re: RPN in education
As a student, and as someone who is a anal about answers being exact, it would be VERY helpful if there was a way to display a result as a multiple of π, √2,e, ..., etc. As much as I love using the rpn calculator, my Ti 36x pro does the job automatically by just pressing the exact/approx button. An...

Re: DM42 resets during program run
There is no such type as double double in C/C++. I think you mean long double ? GCC supports 128-bit floating point on some architectures, including x86 and AArch64/ARM64 using the _Float128 / __float128 type and libquadmath . (Also, your program listings are a mess. One instruction per line please!)

I guess a dummy with the same dimensions as the calculator would do for mocking up a case, wouldn't it?Alphacentauri wrote: ↑Wed Apr 21, 2021 8:06 pmAnyone close to Spain able to loan temporarily to the business to do a mockup? They then can show us all the results on this forum.
Re: LOG bases
(Nitpicky remark: LG is identical to LOG10 like LN being identical to LOGe and LB to LOG2. Never let any mathematician catch you with a naked LOG in your text!) I think pure mathematicians tend to assume \(\log\) means \(\log_e\) because they don't have a lot of use for \(\log_{10}\). Yes. In fact,...

Re: WP34S for the DM42
Feel free to ignore this suggestion, but would it be possible to combine the three display options into a single executable? I'm not sure of all the implications of that, but I guess it would need a configuration menu somewhere, and some hard-coded constants changed into variables.

Re: WP34S for the DM42
I am having a spot of bother getting the program to run on my DM42, so just to confirm that these steps should work: 1) Git cloned the project. 2) Activated USB disk mode on the DM42. 3) Copied the build/wp34s.pgm file to the root dir of the USB disk. 4) Copied the help/wp34s_help.html file to the ...

Re: third root of -8...
This "unary minus," having higher precedence than subtraction, is something I seem to have found in every parser textbook I've ever looked at, but I can't figure out where it comes from. It doesn't seem to have originated from mathematics, or at least, all the math textbooks I have ever s...
