The battery holder is connected to +3V and if you press hard enough and there is no pad on top of the battery holder it presses against the housing which is connect to the GND and it shortens the battery...

The ABS keys are printed and the color is burned in. I haven't seen or heard of any wear off at all.
The printing on the bezel of the first batch didn't last that well, but that is fixed now.

Please check if there is an EVA foam pad on top of the battery holder.

There was a pic posted with white surrounding the display, and it had a standard HP-colored keyboard of gold-on-brown. If the DM-10 that can be made now is not the depicted there, can you please post a picture ...

I would like a DM-10 also. I think I prefer the mini size, as in the picture seen in a previous post. as I said: BTW, the DM10 can still be made on request with the initial design with white instead of the silver keypad, but of course with the latest PCB. I don't see why V23 shouldn't work. I'm sure it would if you'd tried again.
