Re: Inspiring the next generation of RPN users

Yes in principle but how shall I know what you meant if I can only read what you wrote? Darmok at Tanagra! Native speakers sometimes use imagery, simile and metaphor to convey meaning. It's understood by the native speakers although people who don't speak that language natively will probably not ge...

Suggestion

I'm proposing making the Firmware Update Announcements thread read-only and creating a separate thread for feedback. While it's great for people to acknowledge your hard work and report success, how many, "I just installed it and had no problems" posts do we really need? Also, it would be ...

Re: 43S News

Hi, maybe this works (?): could the default code page be different between Win10 & Win11 ? Entering CHCP without parameters in the cmd.exe window shows the active code page. Changing the code page or the system locale to e.g. UTF-8 before starting the WP43s might do the trick. CHCP 65001 or CHC...

Re: 43S News

Release 0.21.8 is here https://gitlab.com/Over_score/wp43s/-/releases. Santa Claus has come again (very early): Cool, this is a quick bug fix turn around time :) I will check it in details. In the mean time here is an issue I found with 0.21.7 and confirmed with 0.21.8: RCL operations with L are us...

Re: DM41 is _not_ in the Voyager housing!

The html versions have been corrected (probably .pdf files too). The images were being blocked in Chrome because it automatically blocks cross-site links under https://, so now fixed. As for why one can't see them in a pdf file (e.g. from here: https://technical.swissmicros.com/dm41x/doc/dm41x_user...

Re: DM41 is _not_ in the Voyager housing!

I just checked both the html and PDF versions of the 211126 manual and I CAN see the screen shots, including the one seen in section 3.1.1. I am using Firefox on Windows and it's OK, but using Chrome, they are indeed not visible. Yet another reason to avoid Chrome... Presumably, you can see them th...

Re: 43S News

Regarding that other character that must not be named here, please look up ISO 80000-2: The symbol ÷ should not be used. Sorry, but ISO is asking me to pay CHF 158 to access this document , CHF 158 (~151€ or $171) for 36 pages !!! No surprise if most calculators still use the obelus… Or you can hav...

Re: Inspiring the next generation of RPN users

It's much simpler than you think, it's not really a lookup table, the coordinates for each step are simply those of the key you press; for example on the 16C, if you press X<>Y (which is the 4th key in the 3rd row,) in program mode, it inserts the code 34. So when you later look at a program, you e...
