Re: Keyboard debouncing

It already has a sensible label. Sure. It's what meaning one puts to it. It may be "EXIT operation of inputting a number" for example. Besides it is at convenient location to terminate an entry - rather that travelling all the way to the ENTER. Now I started thinking of EXIT as ENTER with...

Re: Keyboard Debouncing - NOOB Question

You can also press EXIT after entering a number, and it will only change the X register without disabling automatic stack lift. This illustrates the difference in stack behaviour between ENTER and EXIT... Never thought of using EXIT this way. Learned something new. Thanks! +1. I find this very usef...

Re: UPDATE: DMCP-3.10 / DM42-3.10

Of course what you are asking would be possible, as impressive as the ability load programs (think about what a huge step forward from the HP42s that is), just not as widely used,, I expect. Possible-to-do and should-do can be very different. It might require a huge amount of work, or could be as s...

Re: UPDATE: DMCP-3.10 / DM42-3.10

I use my thermal printer every day! All the rolls of paper I've used have worked fine. This little printer is very handy for tracing and general debugging. I don't need or expect archival printouts from thermal paper but if I ever do need to save a printout indefinitely, all I have to do is put the...

Re: UPDATE: DMCP-3.10 / DM42-3.10

Well, just because you don't find paper print-outs useful, doesn't mean that no one else does. Regarding showing print-outs on the screen: you may not believe that it's hard to do that, and I'm sure that it's possible to implement that on the DM42, but I assure you it's not as easy as you think. Yo...

Re: UPDATE: DMCP-3.10 / DM42-3.10

There is no way to view files directly on the DM42, but I'm sure someone could write a separate application for the platform if they wanted to (as far as I know). I'm just delighted to have this feature, as a record of some program outputs. "Just-in-case". Well "just in case" is...

Re: UPDATE: DMCP-3.10 / DM42-3.10

Flawless and smooth update here too.
I used the combined file on Windows 10 box - no problem.

I like the new "Print to File" feature.
Question: is there a way to browse 'PRINTS' directory and VIEW print-out files on the DM42?

Thanks,

Re: buttons that don't register well

Qualitatively speaking, yes (I don't have anything to measure the exact force). But the important part is that after flexing the key hinges and then inserting the Post-It Note clippings as cesar did, the Enter key feels pleasantly crisp along the entire length of the key, and is comparable to the r...

Re: buttons that don't register well

Could you please explain your two little strips from a Post-It trick? I can't wait to try the flexing fix to the stiff keys of my DM42 but am worried that I might make the ENTER key worse, and will need the perform this secondary fix. However I don't understand what you did. Check out cesar's posts...

Re: buttons that don't register well

I just did the key flexing and Post-It note strips, and it's a massive improvement. At first I only did the key flexing, and while almost all the keys felt immediately better, Enter became substantially worse. But after adding two little strips from a Post-It, it's significantly better than it was ...
