Re: INPUT command lifts stack
OK, so there is no bug here. You just don't like how the HP-42S/Free42/DM42 Version of INPUT works.

Re: INPUT command lifts stack
Not on my 42S, rev. C.
What are the exact keystrokes you're using? I entered the program LBL "TST" 5 INPUT "N" + END, as above, and then did XEQ "TST" 10 R/S. The result is 10 plus whatever was in N before, or 10 (10 + 0) if N did not exist before.

Re: INPUT command lifts stack
This behavior matches the real HP-42S. The function index, page 320, says: Recalls a register or variable to the X-register, displays the name of the register or variable along with the contents of the X-register, and halts program execution; pressing [R/S] (or [Shift] [SST]) stores x into the regis...

Re: DM15L degrees issue
It sounds like the calculator is in Complex mode. In that mode, the trigs work in radians, regardless of the DEG/RAD/GRAD setting.

Re: Stand alone Encoder/Decoder
The format used internally by Free42 is completely different from that used inside the HP-42S. Without going into details, the Free42 format uses roughly twice as much memory, but is much easier to decode for program execution. Free42 converts from the HP-42S format to its own format while importing...

Re: Solver and the GAMMA function
Calling f with 50 manually result in 6.something. When you say "calling f with 50 manually," do you mean 50 XEQ "f" ? Because that doesn't work; you must do 50 STO "x" XEQ "f" since the function gets its parameter from the variable "x", not from the...

Re: Free42 web site has moved
I think Free42 is, or used to be, an ISP somewhere, or a cable company, in South America maybe... I don't remember. Anyway, they can have it. One domain is enough for me.

Re: Free42 web site has moved
Mirrors will have to sort this out on their own. I couldn't notify them all because most of them never make their existence known to me. That's why I put the "we've moved" placeholder pages at my old domain, so that humans can see what is going on. At some point, I'll change those to perfo...

Free42 web site has moved
The Free42 web site has moved; its new URL is http://thomasokken.nl/free42/. When you visit the old URL, you'll get a page telling you about the move and the new URL. This announcement is just to let people know that there isn't anything nefarious going on. And to point Google in the right direction...
