Re: Display update difference between DM41X and HP41

Regarding use of the 82143A features vs. the 82242A IR Module... The 82143A is well documented due to the huge but still growing base of 41 users at the time (e.g. VASM listings were released NOMAS to the PPC community), while Blinky came near the end of 41 market life, at which point HP was no long...

Re: Display update difference between DM41X and HP41

[snip] On a related issue. A few weeks back @Meindert posted an Arduino solution for a 'roll your own' IR receiver. And in your response Bob, you mentioned: It is actually likely we can add an option that will remove the throttling of the IR output, but some details need to be confirmed first. Anyt...

Re: Display update difference between DM41X and HP41

This issue is related to VIEW, which defaults to printing (in all print modes) if the module is installed. So, even though there is no printer attached, when the module is installed, it will still pause to print upon each VIEW statement. If you CF 21, this tells the 41 to ignore the printer, which i...

Re: Display update difference between DM41X and HP41

We have a winner!!! Well, an answer.... The really (REALLY) frustrating thing is I have kept the Printer module installed virtually all the time since before release. On Friday, I removed it as I'm testing some module stuff, and so I couldn't see the problem. Thanks to everyone for the extra reports...

Re: Display update difference between DM41X and HP41

Differing results are always interesting... Can folks please report a few additional details about their configuration when they do/don't see the delay, such as: a. Display mode (SI vs. Stack) b. Modules loaded (initially just yes or no) c. Digit display setting (e.g. Fix-9, Sci-2, etc.) d. Other no...

Re: Display update difference between DM41X and HP41

Thanks for the reports and confirmations.

I believe a prior bug-fix has corrected this anomalous behavior too, but we'll check it out to be sure.

Re: 43S News

Well, I guess I don't use enough emoticons, my wry comment came through even drier than I thought... The IKEA label on the edge was the giveaway, but I did pause for about 2 seconds. $3.99 USD here, so a tiny bit more. Not bad for a customizable, dual-mode, all-natural (well, except for the a...

Re: 43S News

While we are chasing bugs in checking primes featuring some 695 digits we can proudly announce a well-known Swedish furniture shop produces calculator stands for us already. Thanks for sharing this peek Walter. This looks excellent, I am looking forward to availability. I collect stands and I thoug...

Just a little peek in one of our worldwide development labs:
Marketing at its finest!

Sounds great, technically true, but utterly meaningless.

Walter, are you changing career fields?

So this will not be open sourced?
No. The DM42 is, as it was built on Free42 which is open source (GPLv2 I believe).
