Re: Reset after battery failure
Weird...
A couple more questions to try and get to the bottom of this.
1) What happens if you remove the battery and power the DM42 by connecting it to a USB port?
2) What brand of battery did you put in the calculator?

Re: Reset after battery failure
Did the DM42 just show the production diagnostics screen when you put a new battery in or did you have to go into the SETUP to get there?
Have you tried simply pressing the RESET button through the hole on the back of the calculator?

Re: Trying to update v21 firmware on 16L getting error
Hi there. This is actually an RTFM question. "Pr Error" is normal on every Voyager unit (HP-10C, 11C, 12C, 15C, 16C) after a reset. The chances are your machine is now fully up to date. Turn it off, press and hold the "E" key while switching it on. You'll see the firmware version...

There is no polarity. The original PSU provides AC to the printer. That is then rectified and filtered inside the printe.

Re: [SOLVED] Debugging printing to HP82240B
Does the printer have a label on it from another company? This printer was OEM'd by HP to a few other companies and sold under those labels, and one of them moved the IR window to the back side as the printer was installed in/on some other equipment where the front of the unit was not accessible, t...

Re: Negative Cube Roots
It calculates the \(n\)th root of \(x\) by computing \(e^{ln(x)/n}\)
If \(x\) is negative, it can't calculate \(ln(x)\), hence the "DATA ERROR".

Re: DM42 versions and shipping question
Hi there. To answer your questions: 1) Yes. The unsold DM42 units with the older keyboard were removed from sale in September 2020 when the DM41X was released. From that point onwards, only DM42 units made with the same, improved keyboard as the new DM41X were sold and shipped. 2) Again, yes. Even i...
