Re: C47 Classic single shift, replaces C43 on DM42

The great philosophical question: what’s the difference between SAVE and SAVEST? The saved content is the same but SAVE and LOAD use a default save file name and as such SAVE overwrites the previous saved file. These two commands are meant for a quick backup and restore of the calculator content. O...

Another function I would find useful for programs would be to be able to clear a range of registers defined by X and Y.
CLREGS is too violent. It deletes everything.

Speaking of which, is there a function for saving a register block? and for recalling it?
Look at R-CLR and R-COPY in P.FN…

I plan to order more bezels as soon as they are available to order.
More bezels? Whaooo, do you plan for a C47 farm crunching numbers all day long?

The display did now look like a DM41X but the key mapping was still for a DM42. That's how it stands as of today, I removed it and put the original DM41X PCB back in.
You need the keymap.bin file specific to the DM41X, I don’t think it has been published by SM, you need to get it from Michael.

Here, they are exact. SIN 45° is exactly √2/2.
Remember that the C47 has no symbolic capabilities. It’s only working on 34- digit reals. So the internal result of SIN 45°is not equal to √2/2, the same way as SIN π is not 0.

Re: C47/C43/WP43 comparison to stock DM42

The C47 is meant to be a feature super set of the HP 42S and the DM42. I've really kept up with improvements to the latter, so it's possible the C47 is missing a few items. I think that the two main features that were added by Thomas Okken to Free42 and consequently to the DM42 that you’ll not find...

Re: C43/C47 Bug Reports

To fully eliminate the C47 SW issue you can load the original DM42 .prgm and .qspi files and check if the issue is still there at the same frequency.

Regarding HW, did you test with different host computers or only one?

Re: C47 Performance on DM42 hardware

Apologies if this has been asked before, but is there a way to disable the speed reduction when running on battery power (via a future update, perhaps)? I would be willing to sacrifice battery life to speed things up to the level of being plugged into USB power. If there was a toggle in the setting...

Re: Discussion of keyboard layout and ergonomics

We all use terminals with inverted keypads like phones and payment terminals, and we don't even realize they're inverted. I only use a payment terminal keypad to enter my pin-code for which I don’t have to read the digits as it’s just muscle memory. And with my smartphone I seldomly have to enter f...
