What is the politics of HP concerning shape, layout and functions of all past HP calculators? I mean, the HP12C is still on sale and Swissmicros builds and sales a better copy of it as well all other voyager calcs. Does HP say "Here you are, do as you want, as long as you won't name it HP"...

A couple of questions

What's the power consumption of the display witch switched off DM42? Does it safe power, if possible, to bring the display into "off-mode"?

IR port: is it possible to send any self definded codes? I'm thinking of a DM42 TV remote control.

Hi!
This is my first post, so hello to everybody.

I'm still no owner of a DM42 but hopefully I'll get one with the next batch in March.
I'd like to know if the code is editable with an editor or maybe within a GUI. I look around but found no info on that.
