Re: How to use PGMMENU & VARMENU

If VARMENU1 would resume program execution instead, we should then be able to distinguish between having chosen a variable and having pressed EXIT: - Alpha register contains the name of the chosen variable, so it can be empty on EXIT That sounds reasonable... (but that's not what the integration me...

Re: UPDATE: DMCP-3.21 / DM42-3.18 and dynamic stack extension

But why the program is running properly on free42 e.g. MacOS version, both in 4STK and NSTK? Guess DM42 is different here? Also in free42 (again MacOS version :-)) after CLST in NSTK mode it shows exactly 1: and 2: My apologies, I really should have read your post more carefully before replying! Bu...

Re: UPDATE: DMCP-3.21 / DM42-3.18 and dynamic stack extension

Ad2) a simple Program to determine Pi by Monte Carlo runs perfectly on free42 Ver. 3.02 (MacOS version) in both configurations 4STK and NSTK But this program fails with insufficient memory on DM42 with NSTK enabled. In 4STK it is working. https://thomasokken.com/free42/#big-stack Big Stack mode is ...

Re: UPDATE: DMCP-3.21 / DM42-3.18 and dynamic stack extension

With empty stack, the label 1: is shown just so the display isn't completely empty. For RPLishness, I should have made it show 2: and 1:... maybe I'll do that in the next update.

Re: DM42 resets during program run

Do you mean that the precision of Free42 is not good enough? It is the same as in the (slower) DM42. There are two versions of Free42 for desktop/laptop computers. There is Free42 Decimal, which is the same as the version embedded in the DM42, but there is also Free42 Binary, which uses standard 64...

Re: Login keys expiring?

Good idea... Tried that, and wasn't asked to login. In the "remember me" list, the IP address now shows the one assigned to the LTE interface, but the forum doesn't appear to have a problem with the address change.

So much for that theory!

Re: Login keys expiring?

Maybe the forum refuses to recognize the cookie if it's coming from a different IP address than the one it was originally issued for? That would explain why my laptop is unaffected, it tends to stay at home... I'll keep an eye on it, maybe I get logged out when I try to access the forum while I'm aw...

Login keys expiring?

Even though I sign in with "remember me" checked, over the last couple of weeks or so I've been getting logged out again and again. When I log back in, I can see the old "remember me" keys still there, but somehow, they didn't prevent me from having to login again. Has anyone els...

Re: What I would like to have ...

I guess generalized PRGM-mode cut/copy/paste is something I could save for later, and add an X2PGM function right now: non-programmable, immediate execution in both PRGM and RUN modes, taking the number from the X register and inserting it as a program line. That functionality is a bit of an oddity ...

Re: What I would like to have ...

I agree, Copy and Paste in PRGM mode would be useful, specifically, something more fine-grained than the current Copy and Paste that only work with whole programs (and aren't supported on the DM42, but that's a separate issue). I'll put it on my to-do list. This is something I've wanted for a while,...
