So the appropriate mitigation here is simply don't invoke MENU while AON is active?
Yes. Just insert AOFF before MENU and you should be OK.

Re: Calculator hang from KEYX

It turns out that MENU only activates the programmable menu; it does not clear flag 48 (ALPHA mode). Making it clear flag 48 fixes this bug.

The fix will be in the next release.

Re: Calculator hang from KEYX

Confirmed. However, I think this might be a Free42 problem! If you run that same program on an original HP-42S then you get the expected result, a "Label Not Found" error. If you run it on the Windows version of Free42, the virtual HP-42S simply shows part of the Alpha menu where you can ...

Re: SIN 45°

It's nice to see the sine of 45° is properly calculated in 3.1. Thanks, Thomas! You're welcome -- but it was calculated correctly before 3.1 as well. Here's what happened: In Free42 1.5.2, I introduced a special case for SIN and COS of 45° / 50 grads. This case was implemented incorrectly, but in a...

Re: My Calculator DM42 ist arrived ;-)

The most annoying part is the pouch, it is so tight I cannot put the calculator back into it... I am using my old HP11C as a nug fit to "loosen" up the pouch... Same very little issue here... I used my old HP42S to "loosen" up the pouch and used the 42S pouch for the DM42 in the...

Re: DM42 User Manual

Reading the on-line manual, I noticed that it says Mac users can install dfu-util using Homebrew. Could that be changed to mention that it can also be installed using MacPorts? I personally don't like Homebrew's approach to managing permissions. MacPorts follows the more conservative approach of &qu...

Re: Hidden Matrix Functions

Just saw this article http://www.hpmuseum.org/forum/thread-8887.html It describes three hidden fuction on the HP42S, not available on Free42. Given that now large matrices are possible (database) at least the [FIND] command woiuld be very useful. Any chance to see it in Free42? 100% chance. Those f...

Re: DM42 User Manual

I guess that's the name of this directory on an English PC. Don't know for sure, however, since I don't own one. Just try and report back, please. It's called Windows Accessories in English, and there are two text editors there, Notepad and WordPad. I don't see Notepad on my PC - guess it's equival...

Re: DM42 User Manual

Seems it is .txt. You can use the Editor found in the directory "Zubehör" on your PC. Though read the previous paragraph and Thomas' post https://forum.swissmicros.com/viewtopic.php?p=2812#p2812 for more. I don't have one of those "Zubehör"s on my PC. Will Accessories do? :) I g...
