Re: DM41X Alternative key layout

Lately I use the DM42 mainly. So I won't have any trouble finding 'STO', 'RCL' and 'shift'. Also the basic operators won't give me a problem to find them. Look once. The hardware is the same as the DM42, the weight, everything. I have no optical and haptic hint at all that I have another calculator...

Re: DM41X Alternative key layout

What I saw in the video doesn't inspire me. Agreed to have the basic operators on the left like on the HP-35 is quite nice. But already the CLx key causes problems. On the right side you have one more column, with four additional keys. For me this doesn't feel right. Also and above all, if I put th...

Re: Put in function from Catalog

You can't execute functions from catalogs 2 or 3. You need to use XEQ, or the key if there is one. You can execute your own programs from catalog 1, because when you stop on one, that sets the program pointer to that program. So what's the point of CAT 3 if you can't use anything from it? Just look...

Re: DM41X

Are you sure ? $235 USD : 41CL circuit board $65 USD : Time Module board $25 USD : Serial port connector $7 USD : 3-D printed Port cover for serial $6 USD : Serial C...

Re: DM41X

Facts... 1) I have 9 swissmicros calculators that makes a few 100 $ investment... 2) HP41C was my first calculator in late 70's when I was 19 ❤. I hate the DM41L lansdcape format, and love the quality of the DM42 and am excited by the announcement of DM41X. 3) I will participate in DM41X beta progra...

Re: ? DM42 as Alarm Clock ?

But they were present in 27S and 17B, I think. Yep, and also the 18C/19B/19BII, but that could be what Geoff called the stretch (not sure if he meant the Charlemagne or Champion series, they both sorta stretch in different ways). But NOT in the 28C and 28S, somewhat oddly... Stretched Pioneers are ...

Re: ? DM42 as Alarm Clock ?

The alarm function not the HP41 was really for HPIL control. Set flag 11, turn off calc and when alarm wakes calc up, execute resident program. Mine woke up, turned off some lab equipment and turned some on back in the early 80s via HPIL. 42s was not a controller; no HPIL, so no need to implement t...
