Re: Naïve Analysis of TRNG

Using a 41 for raffle draws? It's biased and the results are immediately suspect. Monte Carlo simulations? It's biassed and the results are immediately suspect. Dice rolling? It's biassed and the results are immediately suspect. Dividing up pizza slices? It's biassed and the results are immediately ...

Re: DM41X Beta Programme

One of the slots for the locking tabs down the bottom and under the keyboard isn't properly formed. There is a rough feel rubbing a finger over it and the tab isn't quite right where it sits.

Still, that's not a significant problem.

Re: Additional Option for the SI Screen

Quite a few 41 programmes assume a one line display. They'll display an alpha message and assume that X isn't displayed.

I'd like to see a (larger) single line display as an option. Perhaps one of the high numbered flags could be used for this?

Re: Naïve Analysis of TRNG

Does anyone even know a mechanism by which such radiation could cause harm, or have statistical evidence of such harm? Over the years I've seen reports about studies that indicate both positive and negative outcomes from such radiation exposure. The phone companies seem to be suppressing both. I'm ...

Re: Naïve Analysis of TRNG

No one is able to watch at a trend showing the real disaster that is coming on No, just about everyone qualified can see the trend. Those in power can probably see it but choose not to believe (or at least deny) due to other vested interests. Others with vested interest create misinformation campai...

Re: Naïve Analysis of TRNG

Obfuscating any bias does not remove it.
The RNG is broken and needs a fix.

Re: DM41X Beta Programme

Mine arrived today. One question: what does the CST/CONF button do?

It appears to not be registering on my unit. E.g. shift CONF does nothing and leaves the shift annunciator lit.

Bad key or bad user?

Re: Naïve Analysis of TRNG

I've crunched the numbers.
The 𝜒² statistic for the above data is 3589.0865.
This has a probability of happening by chance of 3.1243 x 10⁻²⁵⁵.

Re: Naïve Analysis of TRNG

The bottom bit of the current time might be good enough if the clock is sufficiently fast when compared to program execution. With a complex CPU, there are improvements but I doubt they are relevant here. Collecting entropy is a difficult problem and demonstrating that what you are collecting is goo...
