Re: DM42 release date please...

I have a beta unit, so I can wait. When do you expect to have the next batch ready?

Re: DM42 User Manual

... when in program mode I'd like to be able to switch the permanent menu off, so I can see more lines. Well, that's a use case that I missed. I see your point, although I am not ready to abandon mine. Toggling the menu from inside the menu feels catch-22-ish, even if I eventually do come around to...

Re: DM42 User Manual

So, again, I meant no disrespect or indeed criticism of other peoples comments; sorry if it came out that way. None taken, by me anyway. I just wanted to clarify for my own part at least, that whatever might appear critical is only meant in the best sense, constructively. I may also occasionally th...

Re: DM42 User Manual

... criticizing ... I am sure there is no intent by anyone to criticize in any other shape, manner, or form than constructively. There are opinions, which may be accepted or ignored at Swiss Micro's sole discretion. I believe the utility of opinions increase with precise formulation, discussion, an...

Re: DM42 User Manual

I feeling is that the option to display the permanent menu or not belongs in a system menu and not as an easily switchable option from the user interface - not an F key. Exactly! Switching the menu on or off feels weird as an option within the same menu. That's kind of recursive... It seems to me t...

Re: DM42 User Manual

For what it's worth, the F1 to F6 keys work whether the DM42 menu is displayed or not. Certainly - but with the menu displayed I know what I press while else I hope I remember correctly what I read days ago in a post far, far away. See the difference? :P Which is also subject to change in any futur...

Yes, RPN and RPL are real programming languages.

Re: What would be the ultimate calculator in 2017?

But I envisage your desktop/laptop machine being the main place to write a program. I agree, for programs written in some programming language. These might be compiled to some executable format before being transferred to the calculator, and the source code could be embedded with it - i.e. the calc...

Assuming that first picture is an OFFIMG, would you care to share it, Walter?
