Re: 43S Alternative key layout

I ... think ... we're on the same page. Maybe I have things clumsily worded in my last post above ... one that I had previously posted on another thread ? Not sure. So, please let me clarify. I had intended to echo your view on clarity and beauty of the 29, and on something so well designed as to b...

Re: 43S Alternative key layout

On the clarity and beauty of the 29C ... and Holy Grails and such ... If you picked up on my mentioning For me that is the holy grail measure of success. I am not using the WP34S daily... I was referring to using the calculator daily. I should probably have made that more clear. I do however not di...

Re: 43S Alternative key layout

You could still debate small things like exchanging DROP and FILL, but I couldn't decide for myself if you follow logic (FILL at [g] [ENTER]) or if you follow usability FILL at [f] [x<>y]. Disregarding these concrete examples, if one is to follow rules, I am generally for following the rule which h...

Let’s stop this hyperbole as it is becoming recursive!

Re: 43S Alternative key layout

Jaco yellow fg key.jpg Very nice. The dots fit in so subtly and replace the ugly up-and left/right arrows that I considered (48S style). It connects the shift button to the left and right labels efficiently. Well done. I totally agree. With this labelling, I think our single shift key concept is co...

Re: 43S Alternative key layout

I'm sorry H2X, the eagle is doing another quick round before tranquility ;-) Houston, I don't have a problem with that... :-) 101. Swapped HOME & SAVE Good! 102. Changed REGS and STATUS to RG.ST and BT.ST. 102a. I also tried REG.ST and BIT.ST, but it really makes the line full. 102b. I also tried R...

Re: 43S Alternative key layout

The coloured 'border' option was offered as an additional way to go ... if extra cost savings in hardware production were determined to be needed. I can only assume that there may be a not insignificant cost (and complexity) associated with the incorporation of a key in another completely different...

Re: 43S Alternative key layout

Sorry about the poor resolution ... try this. What a nice solution !! ... Maybe the dot's is the breakthrough, not the border, so the the answer may be to keep it compact and simple. +1 +2 I was just too lazy to write it. I concur with Jaco's reasoning, button is yellow, border is a) not needed, an...
