You mean an Android app, or a desktop OS app?
Sorry, my bad - I meant a mobile (iOS, iPadOS and Android) app, although Free42 also comes in desktop flavours.

Maybe I am completely wrong, but I think there is almost no code from Free42 in WP43.
No, but in the DM42?

And since the underlying platform (DMCP) is the same, I was guessing there might be an easy-ish way for the WP43S or -C code to make the same jump, albeit in the opposite direction?

There's not an app for [WP43S/C] - yet...

As the DM42 borrows code from the Free42 app - what would it take to create an app from the WP43S (or WP43C) code base?

Re: 43S Alternative key layout --> WP43C

... BASE stays. Perfect! Bonus: Now the other proposed, good names are still available to be put to even better use in future menus, should deserving features be added in the software for which they are the perfect match. Which might very well happen, given the open source nature of these projects....

Re: 43S Alternative key layout --> WP43C

Of the most recent 'final candidates' immediately above, for me BIN and #BA are best, with a preference for BIN. I struggle reading BIN without thinking binary, which I think is too narrow (much more going on) as well as misleading (where are the binary functions?) for this purpose. Am I alone? PS:...

BIN seems the best alternative we have, unless there are more words or more pleas.
Your call, but I'd say BIN only covers a small subset of the ground, and also is misleading. I'd expect to BIN to give me a menu with binary operations.

Re: 43S Alternative key layout --> WP43C

I like BASE... There are other long words out there (with more than 4 letters). Are they to be chopped as well?
