Anyway, in time, perhaps the DM42 might prove to be a platform for open source, financial calculator projects that interested souls might venture into?

Re: 43S Alternative key layout --> WP43C

... If I understand it correctly, the last option of pressing the function key [FN] twice can be done from a clean start, right? That is how I understand it, i.e. that all items listed start from scratch. That sounds to me like a double press, where there is some maximum key up time between the two...

Re: 43S Alternative key layout --> WP43C

Thank you for the think tank. I like the good discussion on this topic. You're welcome, and thanks back to you for hosting it! I'm having fun! :-) 5. I also like Dani's new proposal though. The similarity to the double shift to get g is appealing. Pressing the function key [FN] once, normally or br...

Re: 43S Alternative key layout --> WP43C

The short twice press to get the g button ... Apologies if I don't understand you correctly, but I was not suggesting to change the original, three-state shift key cycle which I suggested way back in another thread. I am totally happy with how that has played out. I was referring to expanding this ...

Re: 43S Alternative key layout --> WP43C

My intention is for visual feedback to use the top left area of the screen where "NOP" is flashed, and where the function name is currently displayed prior to execution of a function. Currently, when you press, the function appears top left, say "ENTER", and after timing out, NOP appears. My intent...

Re: 43S Alternative key layout --> WP43C

Let me try: Assuming "hold" represents the amount of time which distinguishes between a normal (short) press and a long one. Then: Press + release = execute FN (the normal, short press function) Press + hold + release = execute f(FN) Press + hold + hold + release = execute g(FN) Press + hold + hold...

Re: 43S Alternative key layout --> WP43C

... The way it’s written, the first part feels very intuitive, i.e. Normal press for normal business. Keep pressing, and the alternative f[FN] appears. Release if you want that. (#) But the second part above seems confusing. I would rather change it as such: Continuing from (#), keep it in for long...

Re: 43S Alternative key layout --> WP43C

Now I was thinking to (in addition to the normal functionality) to add a double tap to FN1-6 for perform [f][FN] so that you can directly access the yellow line and blue line shifted functions on the soft keys. Of course triple tap brings up g. And the idea is to use the current timing system on th...
