Re: [DM41L V26] Need to press ON twice to turn on

Okay,
I saved a memory dump, removed everything except the programs (using http://dm41.swissmicros.com/) and restored it after a hard reset (using the reset button).
That seems to have fixed it. :-)

Re: Question about "what goes where" while flashing firmware

FWIW, I've been working with different microcontrollers for more than 10 years now, and I have never had one go bad on me because of flash wear, even with excessive reprogramming and/or EEPROM use.
Yes, it can happen, but I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Re: [DM41L V26] Need to press ON twice to turn on

So, first time you press ON, nothing happens. Second time it works? Yes, exactly. But not every time - especially when the calculator has not been turned off for long, it usually works on the first press. The timespan that the calculator needs to be turned off before the problem occurs seems to var...

[DM41L V26] Need to press ON twice to turn on

Hi, I noticed that on my DM41L (Firmware V26) I sometimes need to press ON two times to turn it on, especially after it has been off for a while. After that the ON key works reliably and I can turn the calculator on and off repeatedly without any issues, so it feels like this is not a problem with t...

Re: Casing not snug in the centre

My DM41L has that too, but only very slightly. It gets worse if you overtighten the mainboard screws a bit.
Definitely not 0.5 mm though, maybe 0.2 at most, in my case, so I don't mind.

Not everybody has that curiosity. Some people buy a calculator because they need something to help them in their job or hobby rather than because they want it to be that hobby.
And that's perfectly fine, too. :-)

Re: DM42 License Statement

I have no use for the source code (nor all this fuss about it), so I'll just wait for the next normal firmware update and update as normal. I don't see the point of updating the firmware when there is no functional difference between the last firmware version and this new open source one. The point...

Re: DM42 License Statement

Hi, First off, I am rather new to this discussion and haven't read up entirely on the topic yet, so please bear with me if I got something entirely wrong. I reckon that SwissMicros was violating the GPL, and, because of the binary blob stuff, maybe still is - not sure about that. It took them some t...
