Re: Updating from 3.3 to 3.10

This is precisely what I have been doing, since the bootloader state is the only mode that the dmutil driver recognizes the calc.

The question is - What .bin file do I flash into the calc? When I do this, the calc does not work.

I will try again and report back with more details.

Thanks,

Re: Updating from 3.3 to 3.10

Differnt setup now.

Same results, the only way the DM util 'sees' the calc is when the calc is in Bootloader mode.

So, What do I flash for the bootloader?

Re: Updating from 3.3 to 3.10

Thank you. I will try this, however I am most skeptical since : 1. The data paths in both directions work. 2. The the process is dependent on the state of the calculator. 3. This is the same setup I have been using for some time. 4. The calc does get flashed but is left in a 'wounded' state. Also, i...

Re: Updating from 3.3 to 3.10

...even though 'About' shows 3.10, the calculator is obviously garbled.

Keying in numbers gives garbled results through the stack.

I've even tried to return to 3.2, but proper directions no longer exist.

I would like my calculator back!!!

Re: Updating from 3.3 to 3.10

Well I flashed the combined file. BTW, the only way the PC can 'see' the calculator is if I put the calculator in bootloader mode. All cabling is fine. I have 3.10 on the calculator and the PC beeps indicating it is recognizing the USB device, but it does NOT show in file manager. GRS: HELP! TomC ps...

Re: Updating from 3.3 to 3.10

Well, I understand now that I must have to download the combined DMCP and 3.10 software - using the dm_util since the USB disk is not 'visible' yet.

I will proceed later today when time is available.

Re: Updating from 3.3 to 3.10

...and even when I activate USB disk mode, it does NOT appear on my PC, even though the driver is installed and 'working properly'.

I'm concerned how to do further updates.

Re: Updating from 3.3 to 3.10

Well, in desperation, I used the flash utility and flashed the 3.10 ...bin file.

...and surprisingly it seems to work.

I did NOT follow the flash from FAT process at all.

Concerned, but at least the machine seems to be alive.

Re: Updating from 3.3 to 3.10

GRS: Thank you. Well, I've updated the driver and the calculator shows that DMCP 3.10 is installed - but NOTHING else. The calculator is now bricked - I've gone from a working 3.3 to a bricked machine. When I connect the calc to the PC, the PC chirps like a drive is connected, but it does NOT show i...

Updating from 3.3 to 3.10

Well, it's been a while and I'm here trying to update my DM42. Please explain how to do this - when reading the 3.10 update instructions, it is apparent that something substantially changed in the OS and the update process. I copied files to the root directory, then went to system menu to find that ...
