Re: RPN is child's play

I know. I read her dissertation. This is embarrassing, but I'm afraid I don't understand the joke. A dissertation is the paper written by a PhD candidate. This I know, having written one for my Master's degree and part of one for my (as yet unfinished) PhD, but there are too many unconnected ...

Re: Speaker in DM15L

Given that the DM1XL is a clone of the HP1Xc, I think adding functionality is generally beyond the remit of those devices... my guess.

Re: DM15, solving quadratic simultaneous equations?

Ah, there's a possible solution in the Advanced Solutions handbook but it involves substituting the first equation into the second and using the SOLVEr. I was hoping for a more elegant solution.

DM15, solving quadratic simultaneous equations?

I have learnt how to solve linear simultaneous equations using matrices on the DM15 and am fairly comfortable with that. I've learnt how to solve quadratic equations using the SOLVEr on the DM15 and I'm fairly comfortable with that. Does anyone have any tips for solving simultaneous equations where ...

Re: DM15 ground reset issue

The foam pad covers a lot of the battery housing, but the battery can slip a little bit if the calculator is knocked too hard (dropping from a small height onto a tabletop will dislodge the battery slightly). I believe the battery dislodges by just enough to come into contact with the metal case. Th...

DM15 ground reset issue

When I drop my DM15, which I do from time to time from a low height, the battery dislodges slightly and causes the reset issue when pressure is put near it from the front. Michael has in the past said it is because the battery or housing comes into contact with the metal case, which is grounded. Wou...
