Re: 43S News

Why are the operators /*-+ on the left and the exit, up, down... on the right? Warning, religious topic under discussion.... The WP-34S, and to a lesser but still true extent the 43S, are motivated by the HP-34C (and to a lesser extent by the 42S) by folks that cut their RPN teeth on pre-Pioneer HP...

Done and easy, Windows people, remember to run dmtool as administrator!
No need to do so for me either.

Perhaps it's a limitation for users with long overdue books, sorta like a fine at the Library...

Re: 43S News

Exactly what I meant Walter, thanks!

These obviously help to better understand and visualize the 43S, and will help to fast-forward the folks that aren't familiar with either the 34S that has been delivered, or the scope of the 43S yet to come.

Re: 43S News

Small suggestion Walter - post this latest keyboard layout along with a couple screen shots (using the current DM42 LCD) so folks can see them together. It seems many people cannot understand the various shift planes without actual sample screens to illustrate. There have clearly been a lot of refin...

Google believes the quoted passage says "Man is different, I think he is very cute".

I presume alternate translations also exist?

I got a bunch of little details wrong at first, but this wasn't one of them. 8-)
I salute you sir for your inquisitive nature!

There is just no knowing just what a truly OCD mind will do next, but I personally take great comfort in that! ;)

Re: BUG? or my missunderstanding: Number display

On the real HP-42S, ALL mode always shows all significant digits, in fixed-point notation if it can, and scientific notation otherwise. .... Thanks for the explanation Thomas. I'll bet this is one of the odd little quirks of the 42S that you didn't guess right on the first try... Who would? But wit...

Re: BUG? or my missunderstanding: Number display

Both numbers are of the same magnitude. Both are the results of arithmetic calculations. And both are displayed differently. I dont understand, why..... And if there is no reason, this may be a bug. Tested with my DM42 with firmware 3.3 The 2 numbers are not of the same magnitude, though approximat...

Re: [DM15L M1B V25] DIM error when > 99

Reset, MEM shows 19 211 0-0 99 DIM (i), MEM shows 99 131 0-0 I'm seeing the same thing on my DM15L, thanks for confirming. I'd guess this means that when DM modified the 15C ROM to support larger memory, they did not (or did not correctly) change the required area to allow the Storage Register port...
