Re: DM42 Firmware V3.5 available

Yes, it can. In fact it is required if you feel the urge to downgrade to a version prior to 3.5. Great, thanks for confirming. Firmware binaries from 3.5 onwards contain a signature and a checksum that the DM42 looks for when doing a flash from FAT. If the signature and checksum are not found then ...

Smooth update for DM15L.

Of course we're spoiled by the DM42 Save State feature...

Re: DM42 Firmware V3.5 available

Quick and easy update to both production and beta machines.

Question: Can the current update method (with dm_tool) still be used in the future as well as the new boot-from-flash? I find it's just as easy, maybe even easier.

Thanks for update with no bumps.

Re: 43S News

[*]Nobody found any reason so far why HP chose the sequence [÷], [×], [+], [‒] for their early pocket calculators. OTOH, the sequence [+], [‒], [×], [÷] carries far more "inherent logic".[/list] While I agree the operator sequence as stated has more inherent logic when speaking about them , I think...

Re: [DM41L] memory/register usage does not match HP41C (?)

(I really thought that "Packing" the program would save space, instead it was adding the extra END and then using one more register) PACKing does not add the END, it only removes slack space. The END is added when you use "GTO .." (or of course you could also XEQ "END"). Whoever created the initial...

Don't type the final END. It's not needed if this is the only program in memory.
Doh! Wish I had thought of suggesting that, and this is not even the first thread with a program so tight that it could not fit with the extra END. Thanks for entering it to find out the cause.
