Re: What would be the ultimate calculator in 2017?

This isn't the usual trig forensic. That is asin(acos(atan(tan(cos(sin(9)))))) - 9 which equals -6,2465E-29. Again, I believe this to be the correctly rounded result at this precision. Using the format toml posted didn't feel quite right/familiar, as I recall it starts/ends with sin() but I used it...

Re: DM42 User Manual

Bob, I sent you a PM about 5 days ago (unrelated to this particular topic). Looks like you haven't picked it up yet :) You're right, I had not noticed. Does this forum not send an email to recipient notifying of PM receipt by default? I'll go read your PM now and then check my settings, maybe I nev...

I get -1.24138E-11 when I do this:

atan(acos(asin(sin(cos(tan(9))))))-9
Is this using the the NumWorks machine?

On the DM42, I get -2.86934E-28 !
Amazing!

Re: DM42 User Manual

Is there an idea to make a high quality pocket variant of a kind of quick reference manual? For the original HP-42S, there is an excellent pocket guide available, discussed here: https://forum.swissmicros.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=108 For the DM42, once it is stable and released, hopefully a user wil...

Re: OFFIMG: Leibniz and Hewlett Re: A few to get you started

Does Mac allow saving in a different format? When I right-click the image on the forum in WIndows, it gives me the option to save it in either png or bmp format so allowing png files to be posted shouldn't be much problem for Windows users at least. If you Save As... to a .bmp file in windows, the ...

Re: What would be the ultimate calculator in 2017?

...as for being easier to learn, I haven't found that to be the case for the students I've taught. YMMV. I think teaching RPN and RPL would be as challenging as teaching any other language, as the students have mixed skills, interest and motivation. What I think separates RPN and (to a lesser but s...

Re: What would be the ultimate calculator in 2017?

Real programming languages, like python for instance, are just more readable and maintainable in this respect.... I suspect Python code is quite readable by a Python programmer, as RPN code is by an RPN programmer. One is not inherently easier to read than another, it's just more familiar (or not) ...

Re: New Swiss Micros user - DM-41L

The systemyde solution requires a fully working HP-41, it don't help anyone with a dm-41, and its' damn expensive too. I assumed since you are interested in using 41 ROMs, you may be interested in other solutions that do provide it. "Expensive" is subjective, IMHO. The 41CL provides dramatic perfor...

Re: New Swiss Micros user - DM-41L

Is there a way to load the rom images into the DM-41Ls? I have images of most of the rompacks made, they are freely available online. Currently , there is no way to load .ROM or .MOD images in the DM41L. I don't believe Michael has ever definitively said it will or will not happen in the future, bu...

Re: A few to get you started

For those of you who like to peek a bit, look at the first picture here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/wp43s/ I've been patiently waiting to see these ever since the DM41 Off Screen image capability was available, and Walter I'm quite happy to say that this screen does not disappoint one bit! In...
