Minehunt

Here's a good challenge for programmers eager to take on DM42 graphics modes. http://www.rskey.org/gene/calcgene/minehunt.htm Though I recall seeing the program, I do not recall anything about the "small font" in the UFL program, and also not sure this works in the DM42 enhanced graphics modes, but ...

Re: GROFFIMG.BMP

Yes they were captured in graphic mode but I didn't trigger the capture with Shift+DISP. All the ones that I captured intentionally are following a different naming convention with the date and time of the capture. So, it's clear something in graphics mode is triggering screen capture and saving to...

Re: GROFFIMG.BMP

I just noticed that the GR OFFIMG.BMP file on my DM42 has been updated and contains a new screen shot captured today during the test on my DPLOT version. I still don't know what is triggering the DM42 to capture a screen shot in this file. The "GR" is obviously for something... is it possible these...

Beta Save State File Compatibility with Production

Are Save Sate files created on Beta h/w (latest f/w installed) compatible with production units?

If so, this is by far the easiest way to move all my precious junk to the new machine, but don't want to try it unless knowing it's safe.

Re: Self Test BEEP Test Song

It's the Swiss National Anthem :) (Schweizerpsalm / Cantique suisse / Salmo svizzera) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swiss_Psalm Thanks to both of you! So, I was right, even though I didn't know it.... I actually found a (different) youtube video to see if it was exactly this, but for some strange r...

Self Test BEEP Test Song

Does anyone know the song played by the BEEP Test in the Self Test Menu? Just found this now, and am surprised it was not mentioned yet. Accessed by [Shift] [Setup] [4] [2] [5]. This Self Test menu was not in the Beta releases. I am guessing the answer will reveal something about the author's home...

Re: My Calculator DM42 ist arrived ;-)

actually says: 50 micro Watt for a static image on a 400x240 display. So who is right? Oh, I'm sure Sharp is right! Ok, I admit it, I couldn't recall the actual low number and knew this was the easiest way to find out. The amazing thing (to me) is that the very low current it does draw is the same,...

Re: My Calculator DM42 ist arrived ;-)

When turned off it displays a random graphic, is this normal ? How much extra power does this require ? The type of LCD used actually uses zero current when the machine is off, despite preserving the appearance of still being "on". Doubters will scoff, but it's been discussed, researched and explor...

is nothing but a cosmetic PDF version of the original ASCII text file by Jim.
The article is actually from Joe Horn. Amazingly, yes they are brothers.

As I've written elsewhere, the Force is strong with this family.

Re: Flash write cycles

Ha ha, I'll be im pressed if anybody needs to do over 100,000 firmware flashes. Not me, I'd be de pressed if that many updates were needed... Personal impressions aside, it's clear internal architecture and technology planning were well thought out, as is typical from the SwissMicros team.
