Re: Custm menu ambiguity

This is because the second E of ENTER in the FCN catalog has its high bit set, indicating it should not be shown when the name is displayed in a menu label. This character-suppression trick is used when function names don't fit in a menu label, to create better abbreviations than you would get by s...

Re: Custm menu ambiguity

A real 42S behaves this way, so Free42/DM42 behavior is correct. Hard to say for certain why HP chose that, but if you decide to use variable names which are the same as predefined functions and then further assign them to a custom menu you created, then you are presumably doing it for a reason and ...

Re: HTTPS redirect on forum.swissmicros.com

Why don't you simply bookmark the https:// version ?

I agree it should ultimately be fixed, but in the interim, no need to run any risks...

For those of you who are interested in: the updated draft manuals have been uploaded a few minutes ago.
Walter - The latest manuals I see in gitlab are version 0_14, though update time of "8 hours ago" confirm they are fresh. Isn't the version number typically incremented each release?

Re: DMCP v3.16 ?

There is an update in the works for the DM42 (no, I don't have an ETA yet and I can't yet say exactly what's in it) OK, fair enough, but can you say anything at all? Will it be based on Free42 2.5.recent? The goal is to catch-up to date, though there are some non-trivial changes such as the platfor...

Re: DM41X

Hee hee! I'd settle for any printer that used least 8.5" width on non-thermal paper. Even a laser printer would be nice. I have an HP LJ-2100 that has a built-in IR receiver, which works fine with several Sharp Wizard and Zaurus products, but sadly the IR output from the DM41X will not produce any ...

We don't use bar codes but printing to a real dot matrix printer would be great.
The 82440A/B is a real dot matrix printer :)

But I suppose you mean the type you can hear printing from 25 yards away...

Re: DM41X

Manual, what manual? This is a 41 near-clone, so everything should be obvious to even the most casual observer ("near" covering a world of possibilities here...)
