Re: 43S News

Interesting! But maybe only [SHIFT] is really needed, as long as yellow and blue label names never clash - which they don't? Consider [SHIFT]+[LOOP] and [SHIFT]+[TEST] as but one example. You'd still need to locate which button the [LOOP] and [TEST] labels are on, regardless of how you refer to the...

Re: 43S News

Though I would agree that simple colored yellow and blue buttons are sufficiently clear for use on the device (or emulator) itself, having [f] and [g] labels on the buttons will make it much easier to document and comment, put into program listings, etc. on which keys to use, for example in this ver...

Re: Firmware Update (v29) on DM 15L using a MacBook Pro

Good to know they now ship with M1B; this may have changed as I think when I initially got mine (when announced) it was the default, but as more folks have explored it and it's now more fully documented and understood (so, less folks emailing SM or posting questions) SM switched. Possibly it was eve...

Re: Firmware Update (v29) on DM 15L using a MacBook Pro

Thanks, cdmackay. Do you have any thoughts on my other questions, which do not concern installing lpc21isp? These are as follows. Do the DM15Ls ship with the M1B variant firmware? Is there any harm in downloading the M1B variant firmware, under the assumption that more memory is better? Thanks agai...

Re: 43S News

I don't believe that is the latest, as I'm quite sure the [TRG] key became [TRI] and moved to the top row. This is an image I have from 181216, mocked-up on a DM42: Status_181216.jpg Note [USR] has become [UM] for User Menu But I am fairly certain there was another change since then (Something about...

Re: 43S News

And here we go again... I already stopped participating in polls about vaporware on MoHPC after one of those was re-submitted since somebody didn't like the result. In my view, then, only those that commit to buy at least one specimen should be admitted to vote. It's full of "me too", but not so ma...

Re: 43S News

Huh! I was wrong... there isn't a reason. :o Other than W & P like it that way. Which to be fair, is equally valid as my own "I'd like it the way it was". After all, these are just opinions. I've no interest in waging a war over a religious topic, sadly there are too many people in the world doing ...

Re: 43S News

But it's not a question (for me) of "early" or "late" HP layout. I am actually OK with EITHER the "early" or the "late" layout. What I would really prefer to avoid is a hybrid that is neither... i.e. putting the operators on the left like the "early" ones, but arranging them in the "late" ones' ord...

Re: 43S News

Jaco, I have to say... Your modified/unofficial layout is *exactly* what I would prefer myself: 1) Math operators on the right --- just like the 34S and other "late" RPN calcs 2) top-to-bottom order of math operators matches 34S and other late RPN. 3) XEQ / ↑ / ↓ / EXIT on left with same order as o...
