Re: Benchmark Speed?

Is that a typo in your MATH benchmark data, or is the 32-bit Windows build, running in a VM, really five times faster than the 64-bit Linux build, running on the metal on the same machine? I have a Ryzen 7 2600 in the Office with native Windows 10. Tomorrow I can check Free42Windows decimal...

Re: DM42- clock losing time

I'm pretty sure the last time I set mine was sometime on 31st March (when the clocks went forward in the EU), and it is currently running 86 seconds fast after 43 days, so that's about 2 seconds per day in my case.

Re: Hello World!

Does Swiss Micros sell any apparel? You could always buy a bunch of calculators and make scale mail out of them. (emphases added) Ough, thanks to Linguee for finding this term - Merriam-Webster doesn't know it. Nice proposal anyway. 8-) M-W seems to call it scale armor . Calculator armour would be ...

Re: External stack

To clarify how LSTO works under the hood: it creates a variable just like STO, except the variable is tagged with the current RTN level, so when a RTN is executed, it can scan the list of variables and delete all the ones with the current level. Just to clarify something, by "RTN", do you mean any ...

Re: Fundamental Mathematics

Perhaps one way to think of arcsin(arccos(arctan(tan(cos(sin(9°))))) is that sin , cos , and tan decrement the power of the degrees units by 1, and that arcsin , arccos , and arctan increment the power of the degrees units by 1. I'm not sure if that's a good way to think about it though. Angle units...

Re: 43S News

I take it the spaces separating groups of 3 digits after the decimal point can be removed in the formatting? Yes, you can. OTOH, our East Asian friends can set them to separate groups of 4 digits. How about the Indian system: a comma separating the thousands, then every two digits, e.g.: 10,00,00,0...

Re: Spreadsheet App for DM42

It's worth mentioning that Casio graphing calculators have a very basic (but still useful) spreadsheet, and also nice high-contrast screens. Have you tried out the spreadsheet function on the fx-CG50? The Casio ClassWiz fx-991EX and fx-570EX (and international variants of those) also have a spreads...

Re: UPDATE: DMCP-3.13 / DM42-3.13

Correct. It's only up until Windows XP that Microsoft required vendor-specific drivers even for mass storage devices. From Vista onwards, Windows included generic USB storage drivers already rendering vendor-specific drivers unnecessary. Even Windows 98 and Windows 2000 had generic USB mass storage...

Re: UPDATE: DMCP-3.13 / DM42-3.13

I updated all the way from Version 3.5 to 3.13 by direct FAT disk update using the combined file without any problems and also updated the Help file. I needed two computers to accomplish this feat, an old Win XP desktop computer to copy the files via USB and my brand new Win 10 desktop to download ...
