Re: DM42 Firmware V3.1 available

No problems with Firefox so far. :D Why use Google Chrome?!? Google knows enough of you... Even with Firefox, there are differences between saving a page and saving a link, although at least Firefox does a better job of preserving intra-page links than Chrome. Occasionally, Mozilla also do e...

Re: DM42 Firmware V3.1 available

You should download the file from the ftp site in the FAT\HELP folder and copy it directly to the HELP folder on the DM42. Opening the help file in a browser and then saving (from your post it seems like this is what you did) will modify the file and some things will not work. I'd suggest you repla...

Re: v3.2 seems slow

I guess the slowdown is due to the C/C++ compiler optimization level being turned down a notch for the v3.2 firmware to work around the problem of the calculator hanging when running some user programs. I speculate that there might be some issue in the source code that only manifests as a problem at...

Re: Successfully updated to DM42 3.1 with dfu-utils on LINUX

Hi mcc, Thaks for your response. Regarding restarting the UDEV daemon "the UDEV way", my understanding is that the udevadm control --reload (or -R ) command doesn't restart the daemon, it just tells the existing udev daemon to reload its rules and databases. Anyway, I did flash the latest firmware u...

Re: Successfully updated to DM42 3.1 with dfu-utils on LINUX

I successfully updated my DM42 to firmware version 3.1 and wanted to describe, what I did so may be it help others to do the same. Thanks! I may give this a try when I flash version 3.2. 3.) Use the tool "dm" to inform the udev daemon about the new rule being installed. That's a command I've never ...

So, é and é being rendered as ? is entirely due to limitations in the renderer. If é weren't recognized, it would show up as é, not ?.
Did you try é? dlachieze wrote above that it was rendered as "é".

Re: Hardware: but not an issue ;-)

Speaking of cases, a zip-up carrying case for external, 2.5 inch hard disk drives seems to be about the right size. Something ike this? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Multi-functional-Portable-USB-Flash-Hard-Disk-Drive-Phone-Data-Cable-SD-TF-Card-Cell-Phone/32761525022.html?spm=2114.search0104.3.1...
