DM1x/41 firmware announcements comments

Hi SM team...
any way to allows us to comment the firmware announcements in the DM1x/41 forum, just like the DM42 users can do in theirs?

Merci,
Boubker.

You might find this to be of interest: https://forum.swissmicros.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=416 This V25 release is just GREAT! I just uploaded firmware for my 2xDM15L and my DM41L. the X-Mem add-on is just a marvelous move! very very good job SM (and @grsbank) :D DM41L is becoming a "beast"! PS: Any...

Re: Speaker in DM15L

Given that the DM1XL is a clone of the HP1Xc, I think adding functionality is generally beyond the remit of those devices... my guess. SM managed to add : - multiple speeds - multiple fonts - time and date - USB console to download/upload programs So why won't we dream about more features in the DM...

Re: Speaker in DM15L

Hi, The HP-1xC instruction set does not include a way to add a beep/tone. There is no room for such an instruction. We could use a register that would be "connected" to the buzzer and a firmware setting ([ON] + [Something] to toggle the setting) to enable/disable this register to indirect beep/tones...

Re: [DM41L] Extended Memory, Console and En/De-coder

Hi all, I continued my testing and found the following : - the Display format (FIX, ENG, etc..) are present also in the Console Dump put erased (over-written ?) by the En/De-coder - the ASN (assign to keys) is aslo present in the Console Dump and erased by the En/De-coder - the Flags are also presen...

Re: Question about speed difference (DM15L vs DM41L)

Once a GTO (or XEQ) instruction has been executed once in the HP-41/42, the offset to the label is cached inside the actual GTO/XEQ instruction, so the machine only needs to search for the label once. Second and subsequent jumps can happen almost immediately. Yes you are right for the offset... But...

Re: Question about speed difference (DM15L vs DM41L)

@grsbanks My guess was that the HP-1xC series use a "finite" set of labels (max 25), registers (less than 100) and instructions/functions (mapped three max to one with keyboard), whereas the HP-41C(V/X) deal with "infinite" set of labels (alphanumerical labels), registers and instructions (alphanume...

Question about speed difference (DM15L vs DM41L)

Hi all, I tested exactly the same program (checking for a prime number) on my DM15L and DM41L and found an impressive speed difference ! @48MHz (checking for 90709 prime) : - DM15L took 8s - DM41L took 38s That makes the DM15L nearly 5x faster than the DM41L? I understand that they use exactly the s...

[DM41L] Extended Memory, Console and En/De-coder

Hi all, beside the loss of "Display Format" using the DM41L Console + En/De-Coder (https://forum.swissmicros.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=244) I stepped today into a other problem... While improving a program using the Console + En/De-coder, I lost my Extended Memory saved programs. I tried to debug, an...
