Re: DM41X

Facts... 1) I have 4 swissmicros calculators (although I bough 5 and unfortunately one DM42 was lost by the local mail)... that makes a few 100 $ investment... I would have bought many more DM42 if I had not a keyboard problem... 2) HP41C was my first calculator in early 80's when I was 17 ❤. I love...

Re: ? DM42 as Alarm Clock ?

1) Alarms can wake up the calc.
2) The calc (once waken up) can check if an alarm is due and then launch the adhoc subroutine, and if an alarm is not due set watchdog for the next alarm
3) go to 1) if cacl is put off before watchdog did trigger

No?

Re: ? DM42 as Alarm Clock ?

Hello, 1) I understand that Free42 has some instructions enhancements to the standard HP42s instruction set (date and time, base enhancements, LSTO local variables, etc...) 2) I understand that Free42 has some platform dependent instructions (accelerometer, GPS and compas) so... I really don't under...

https://i.imgur.com/J8LXEd0.jpg Always interesting to see how each one of us custmizes his Voyager calculator... Here is my take :D 0_IMG-20190910-WA0007.jpg May be, it would be interesting that the face plate of the Voyagers include from factory these (important) informations found at the back of ...

Re: Firmware V29 for DM1x/DM41(L) units

Hi,
this a great improvement for DM15_M1B (better) program memory management!

Do you know if the capability to allocate more than 99 registers is in the radar or not ? I understand that it's a difficult task...

Thanks,
Boubker.

Re: DM15L programming

Then, you can keep asking for it as much as you want, but I'm pretty sure it's a damn loss of time. When I started my career in software developement in 1989 (developping CADCAM software using fortran77 on MVS mainframe) we didn't have online forums but what we called "Users Groups Meetings" where ...

Re: DM15L programming

I'm sorry but it's not exaclty a replica... - we have bugs corrected - we have extended memory (do we?) - we have rtc - we have USB computer exchange - and we even have multi fonts!!! So why would mutli fonts (aka display improvments) be accepted and welcomed and translation of num codes to op code ...

Re: DM15L programming

What Walter was saying (tell me if I'm wrong) was... Why can't we do something like "trapping" the display instructions and when in program mode, store these instructions and once the full programming command is decoded convert into aplhanumeric ones rather than num key codes. (I'm assuming that dis...

Which, IMHO, is a pity. It could be a real progress if programs would become readable. And I assume this progress being easily reached since you just need a translation table. Maybe food for thoughts about a future edition.
