Re: 43S News

Thanks for your firework of creativity :) We're pondering about the calculator backside: so far, we'll have a scheme of DSE, ISG, DSL, and ISE on one hand and the keyboard assignments in alpha input mode on the other. Anything more important you want to see? Nothing at first glance, it seems to be ...

Re: 43S News

I think the 43S language is sufficiently different from a 41's use that FOCAL should not be used, however the term F3CAL is interesting. A potential downside though is the 3 is too easily mistaken for an E and that has undesired implications, so maybe not great after all. But I think Walter's idea ...

Re: 43S News

Triggered by a discussion elsewhere: Should we call the programming language of the 43S "FOCAL"? This name was introduced for the keystroke programming language of the HP-41C, so it certainly applies to the one of the HP-42S, so ... What do you think? I'm an old DEC programmer and FOCAL h...

News from all in these time of COVID 19

Hello This topic just to give news of each other from time to time. I don't know you all, but in some of the post, I appreciate the quality of discussion. This forum is a little bit quiet since 2 days, and I propose to have some news sometime. Maybe I am ridiculous, or maybe it is not the place for ...

Re: Battery use

Just a question.

You calculate the battery level by the number of bars in the battery indicator or is there a way (like for DM42) to know the voltage of the battery (and to display it, again like DM42) ?

Re: Direct editor (DM41X / DM42)

I explain: you plug the DM41x vis USB, then open a module on the PC/Mac (via an app or a internet site) and you type directly your program on the computer and it is registered on the calculator. Maybe a stupid idea; but how stupid ? Not very. I've seen worse ;) Let's watch how realistic executing t...

Re: Dutch Lion

2) nothing is old in North America in this matter. Very nice story though. :D America has more European culture than they want to admit, old is just relative. @tuxfish, nice story I think it is important to share culture. The same for us (France) and UK; we left part of our culture in Canada ...

Direct editor (DM41X / DM42)

Hello, An idea, which is probably difficult to implement, would be a program editor on PC (or Mac) directly via USB. I explain: you plug the DM41x vis USB, then open a module on the PC/Mac (via an app or a internet site) and you type directly your program on the computer and it is registered on the ...
