Re: Printing and Thermal Printers etc

Also interested in this. I'd love it if there were a simple USB IR receiver that dumped the 'printout' to a file on the host computer.

ifficult to decide, wether "[ ]" is "above" or "below" / "left" or "right" of "[A]"
or "[a]" if only the active annunciator is visible.
At the very least, if you are on "[a]", shouldn't shift-up take you to "[A]"? It seems backwards to me.

Re: Txt to Raw and Raw to Txt

Yes, adapting the online converter would work well. Can we get access to that code?

Re: Txt to Raw and Raw to Txt

Being able to import programs from text files right on the calculator would be really convenient. Barring that, can we get a command line utility, or even the specification for RAW files?

It would be great to be able to automatically encode/decode programs between the two formats locally.

Font question

I've noticed with certain complex numbers (and maybe others), the classic and new fonts display differently. Try the following in ALL display mode: .1 LN LN The new font shows 834.E-3 i3.14E0 while the old font shows 8.34032445248E-1 i3. I have my font size at the second largest setting. Other sizes...

I'm a physicist.
Me too. I enjoy chatting with other physicists about the work they're doing, but as I am typing this I'm realizing that perhaps this isn't the appropriate place for that discussion.
That makes three of us.

buttons that don't register well

My 2 button misses a few presses now and then, particularly if I don't hit it just right or if I am doing multiple quick entries. I know others have had issues with other buttons.

Is this something that gets better with time and usage, or should I be popping the calculator open to do some cleaning?

Re: My Calculator DM42 ist arrived ;-)

Got mine today. It's great! Loaded some programs from Free42 on my phone and made some OFFIMGs.

The 2 key doesn't quite register each press. Is the recommended method to fix this just exercise the button, or open it for cleaning?

Re: DM42

This is not perfect but might get you started. I wrote a short constants program the other week for Free42, in preparation for receiving my DM42. I removed many of the constants I don't need access to, but the general idea of how to build a multi screen menu that returns constants is demonstrated. M...
