Re: Getting NAME ERR when I save program raw files

So, are filenames also restricted to a maximum of seven ALPHA characters, the way labels are ? No, there is no relationship between the filename used to store the .raw file (or any of the other files that may be saved) and the FOCAL program label. The 41OS is totally unaware of the files on FAT. Al...

Re: Getting NAME ERR when I save program raw files

Looking more closely at the SAVEP command, I realize that the statement in section 6.2.4. Save RAW Program that "Note that the program name to save has to be prepared in (the) ALPHA register," is not entirely correct. If it is the current program that appears in PRG mode and is shown on the third l...

Re: Cleaned up HP-41CX Owner's Manual?

This copy will NOT be going away. These manuals are excellent, however note that these are for the 41C (not 41CX) but the Extended Functions and Time module manuals and the 82143 Printer manual are also available here, so this covers most of what you'll want for the 41X. Most, but not all, such as ...

Re: Topics that should be explained in the DM41X User Manual instead of an HP reference

Perhaps it will help some users if flags 15 and 16 on page 4 for the printer modes are explained. i.e.: MAN Manual Print Mode (CF 15, CF 16) TRA Trace Print Mode (SF 15, CF 16) NRM Normal Print Mode (SF 16, CF 15) Yes, I've already mentioned that, and was told by Bob P. that they are just not willi...

Re: Topics that should be explained in the DM41X User Manual instead of an HP reference

01 LBL "PRON" 02 SF 21 03 RTN 04 LBL "PROFF" 05 CF 21 06 RTN This won't work, because you also have to set or clear flag 55, which is a system flag that cannot be set or cleared by the user, only tested. If you have an IR Printer Module installed in your HP-41CV, first test flags 21 and 55 and they...

Re: Topics that should be explained in the DM41X User Manual instead of an HP reference

As for the 41X Printer support, it is not stated anywhere in the manual that the 41X is emulating the 82162A or 82242A printers or interfaces, this seems to be a conclusion you've reached somehow. It does correctly state the support is based on the 82143 printer (because it actually runs that rom) ...

Topics that should be explained in the DM41X User Manual instead of an HP reference

I've encountered several cases where a topic is not explained in detail in the DM41X User Manual, and instead a reference is made either to an operation or command that is only explained in an HP document, or to an HP document itself. The assumption is made that the user already has these documents ...

Re: New to DM41X and HP-41CX: What am I missing?

Actually, now that I think about it, “nonexistent” usually means that the function itself does not exist. IOW, the DM41X does not recognize the function named ED. So, the developers of the DM41X need to answer this question for you.

Re: New to DM41X and HP-41CX: What am I missing?

OK, I tried it myself and got the same result, so I don't why it didn't work. I've never used the Text Editor myself, since I only owned a HP41CV, which lacks this capability, and only recently received my DM41X. I'm sure someone far more knowledgeable on this forum will be able for figure it out.
