Re: buttons that don't register well

Could you please explain your two little strips from a Post-It trick? I can't wait to try the flexing fix to the stiff keys of my DM42 but am worried that I might make the ENTER key worse, and will need the perform this secondary fix. However I don't understand what you did. Check out cesar's posts...

Re: saving variables anytime?

Saving variables, matrices at least, is indeed planned for a future firmware version. Awesome, glad to hear that's on the to-do list. It's pretty high on my list of wants. Tab-delimited format seems like it would be the easiest format for import/export, since you don't have to worry about quoting v...

Re: buttons that don't register well

I just did the key flexing and Post-It note strips, and it's a massive improvement. At first I only did the key flexing, and while almost all the keys felt immediately better, Enter became substantially worse. But after adding two little strips from a Post-It, it's significantly better than it was o...

Re: HEX mode logic operation on a sequence with alpha digits

You can recreate the LOGIC menu with a small program for even quicker access. While in the hex input menu, XEQ "LOGIC" to bring it up, and hit EXIT to go back to hex. From that point, you can just hit R/S to call up the logic menu again. LBL 00 STOP LBL "LOGIC" CLMENU "AND" KEY 1 GTO 01 "OR" KEY 2 G...

Re: Firmware V25 for DM1x/DM41(L) units

Awesome! I just flashed my 41L, and I'm seeing the extra space in EMROOM. I don't suppose there's enough unused space in flash to fit the Advantage module, is there? That would make the 41L pretty much "complete" for me. EDIT: Nope, looks like there's maybe about 4 KB free, but the Advantage module ...

Re: Bigger ALPHA register

The problem with that is that the HP 42S (and Free 42) use the absolute value of flag numbers and some people have taken advantage of that in their programs. To maintain compatibility, negative numbers can't be used. The same applies to register numbers, which is why virtual variables were introduc...

Re: Bigger ALPHA register

Debugging programs "on the go" (that is without access to a computer...and even then...there is no DM42 emulator) only with BST, SST and a two liner of code and the stack is difficult I was debugging some code in Free42 today, and at one point it did occur to me that having "step over" and "step ou...

Yes. Just insert AOFF before MENU and you should be OK.
Thanks, that should be a perfectly acceptable workaround.

Re: Calculator hang from KEYX

So the appropriate mitigation here is simply don't invoke MENU while AON is active?

Re: Calculator hang from KEYX

Got a reliable repro. This short program will freeze the calc. Run the program "TEST", then press F6 (the down-arrow menu key). This works from a freshly-reset state on firmware 3.1.
