The DM42 definitely IS fast. Depending on the operations you're carrying out, it'll run up to 400x faster than an HP-42S.
Looks like a lot more than 400 times to me!

HP 9100 Math final R2 value: 679
HP 9100 Trig final R2 value: 40

Benchmark Speed?

Am I crazy or what (my wife votes YES) On https://www.hpmuseum.org/speed.htm there are a couple benchmarks. One for arithmetic and one for trig. I put the following programs into the DM42 and got 21,880 for the Math program and 3,081 for the Trig program! Is the DM42 really that much faster than the...

Re: Thermal Paper?

Finally, it is "normal" for output to fade considerably, even after only a couple months, if the listings are left out and exposed to light. To preserve them, keep them in a file, or book, etc. to preserve the printout. I copy them on my printer's copier. The print comes out nice and dark and the c...

Re: [POLL] Compiler for DM15L ?

Python makes sense. The language has a large user base and is growing in popularity. I'd want a FULL Python, though. Not one of these "MicroPython" implementations. How would a full Python with Strings and all be usable on the DM15L? I'd probably not do an exact implementation of a language anyway,...

Re: Landscape DM42?

Hp41 was the best, do not change anything. Maybe that's the answer. If someone could shove the 41 CX rom into the DM42, then we could be reassigning keys and manually typing in functions like it was 1979. Yeah but without the hardware connectivity of the 41CX, most of the functionality is gone for ...

M-W seems to call it scale armor. Calculator armour would be useful to cover your 5318008.
Without it you might find yourself 55378008...
