Re: The Stack (according to Free42 Manual)

There's a great tutorial that explains RPN and the differences in HP implementations of it: https://hansklav.home.xs4all.nl/rpn/index.html There's nothing wrong with any of the implementations; there's just a preference for one over the other. All the implementations are self-consistent even if they...

Re: Help File v 3.11

The updated help file (190129) is already available on the ftp site here: https://www.swissmicros.com/dm42/fat/HELP/ Right-click on "latest/" and Save as index.htm Thanks! I tried to do that just before I posted and it didn't work for me so that's why I recreated it myself. Now it works, though.

Help File v 3.11

For those who are having trouble getting the help file for their calculator, here is v 3.11. Copy all the text into a text file on the PC called index.htm then start the USB disk and copy index.htm to the HELP folder on your DM42.

Re: Help with off images

And once more, how do you create a loadable image in Paint? In Paint, you need to set the .BMP file image properties of size and color depth ("Black and White") before you draw (or paste) the image, then save the file. Changing size or depth after you've created the image does not work (Paint works...

Re: Help with off images

I worked with good ol' Paint and didn't need anything as complex. Please do as grsbanks suggested and we'll have a look what to do. Since he's already using Gimp, four mouse clicks (click Image, Mode, set bits to 2, click on Floyd-Steinberg) doesn't seem like a lot of work to me. How do you dither ...

At the end of the process, resizing, dithering... I EXPORT the file to bmp, don't save it but export it as bmp and it works.
Correct. Gimp (at least the version I use) doesn't even let you use Save or Save As to save a file in BMP format. You have to use Export.

Re: DM42 usable for just a user?!

Hello all I need some kind of advise. I'm really interested in the DM42. It seems as this is the best calculator for people who like RPN and a bit of programming. However... I won't be the heavy user at the end. I just like to have a nice look-and-feel calculator beside my computer for some calcula...

Re: Help with off images

I have tried to converted a few photos to off images. I resized them to 400x240, 1 bit depth using gimp but they consistently error once they're on the dm42. Any suggestions on how to do it right? Did you change the Mode to Indexed with Floyd-Steinberg dithering? If not, open the Image menu to get ...
