Re: What would be the ultimate calculator in 2017?

An interesting open source calculator https://www.engadget.com/2017/08/28/numworks-graphing-calculator/#/ Very nice and clean design. Looks like designed in Western Europe or by Apple. :) Alas, it's algebraic. :( Yes, design is very clean. Algebraic :/ But they promised to add Python functionality ...

Re: A few to get you started

You can use imgur.com to upload pictures and share them for free without an account. Just copy the link after you upload. For example: http://imgur.com/a/pJlNp You can share image links from almost any file sharing service without an account. The problem is showing the file directly in a message th...

Re: OFFIMG: Leibniz and Hewlett Re: A few to get you started

Does Mac allow saving in a different format? When I right-click the image on the forum in WIndows, it gives me the option to save it in either png or bmp format so allowing png files to be posted shouldn't be much problem for Windows users at least. PNG images can be posted but they can't be used b...

Re: OFFIMG: Leibniz and Hewlett Re: A few to get you started

It sounds like the problem is not the OS or the browsers you tried, but the image file format. I only tried it with PNG images, and that worked, but apparently BMP is not supported. Could be that that's just a MyBB setting that would have to be modified. OK, now I'm trying a png file. Ça marche! Se...

Re: OFFIMG: Leibniz and Hewlett Re: A few to get you started

Or you can include the image itself in the message, and not a link. On my Mac, I can do this by just dragging the file from the Finder to the message composition area in the browser, and in the Attachments panel that appears, click Place Inline. That way you don't have to worry about where to store...

Re: OFFIMG: Leibniz and Hewlett Re: A few to get you started

How do you get the actual image to show in your message? I only get a black box with IMA. [/img] But for that to work with DropBox you need a paid account that gives you a public folder. Or you can include the image itself in the message, and not a link. On my Mac, I can do this by just dr...

Re: OFFIMG: Leibniz and Hewlett Re: A few to get you started

Now if you could come up with a pic of Jan Lukasiewicz, you'd really have something! :) All you have to do is ask :) How do you get the actual image to show in your message? I only get a black box with IMA. https://www.dropbox.com/s/mj1ws8ebc47o8vh/Batmobile%20DM42%20Power%20Screen.bmp?dl=0 https:/...

Re: OFFIMG: Leibniz and Hewlett Re: A few to get you started

What software do you use to convert photos to b/w 1-bit color depth? When I use PAINT.NET to do it, the pictures are just about unrecognizeable. The GIMP (https://www.gimp.org/). First convert to greyscale and get the resolution right. Then go down to 1-bit colour depth and use Floyd-Steinberg dith...
